Tim Meyer was born in Sinton, Texas but raise in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born again in Christ as a young child through his mother's home based Good News Club ministry. He graduated Grace Baptist Academy high school and attended Williams Jennings Bryan College his freshman year and finish an associates degree in Science at Bee County College in Beeville, Texas. He answered the call to mission ministry at the age of twelve and In 1993 attended Josh McDowell's mission to Russia. Melissa Meyer (maiden name Garza) was born in Amarillo, Texas but grew up in the Corpus Christi, Texas area. She was saved as a young adolescent and began doing short-term missions in Central Mexico with her church and later her parents. Melissa is a home school graduate and completed an associates degree in Science at Bee County College. This is where Tim and Melissa met and in December of 1994 were married. Ministry History After being invited by a national pastor, Tito Rodriguez, to come serve in Mexico Vineyard Christian Fellowship ministries (La Viņa Comunidad Cristiana) Melissa and Tim moved to Fresnillo, Zacatecas in October 1995. As we began assisting in ministry construction and church remodeling we also began to assist in Children's ministry in the neighborhood of Plutarco located in Fresnillo. As we worked will some of the nationals our Spanish language skills developed. Our children's club also developed into an adult Bible study and a Saturday children's lunch program. Later a small church was started there that we pastored for two years. Following that, we assisted Melissa's parents as they started a La Viņa church in Zacatecas, Zacatecas. At the time we were ministering in Plutarco we were introduced to Lorenzo Castillo who had begun to minister to the Tepehuan Indian tribe in the mountains of the Sierra Madres. I was able to coordinate the construction of a church building for a new and growing Christian indigenous congregation. Later, through our ministry, we raised funds and coordinated the construction of the Tribal Mission Center, which is ministry housing, facilities, and a part time clinic. Currently we are assisting Lorenzo as he builds a building for an indigenous Bible school. OUR PURPOSE Mission Statement To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the spiritually lost in Mexico and encourage local evangelical churches to do the same through assisting them in ministry development. Statement of Faith The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians. Because of the specialized calling of our ministry, we desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the ministry to which God has called us. There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. Man was originally created in the image of God. He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation. Man's nature is corrupted, and he is thus totally unable to please God. Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. The salvation of man is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in His sight. It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their eternal salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written word. The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer's life by faith. Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith. God ordained the Church to preach and live out the Good News of the Kingdom and to be an agent of restoration in a lost world. He admonishes believers to become disciples and to edify one another through the Scriptures. At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing. At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation. OUR MINISTRY Our ministry strategy is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. We seek to be an instrument of God to reach the spiritual need of those around us while also meeting practical and physical needs. MISSION TEAMS- Through the development of a Mexican outreach team and by hosting foreign mission team we will share the Gospel publicly in many cities, towns, and villages. Public evangelistic events, children's Bible club programs, and ministry facility construction are key elements used to further the Gospel through E-VAN. MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT- Through sharing the need and opportunities to the church body we will network resources, teams, and funds, to ministry "projects" where the need is great. COMPASION MINISTRY- As a practical way to show the Love of Christ we will take medical help, food and clothing where the need is great. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM- For those wanting a longer term ministry experience, evaluation, planning and training is available to place interns in service for 1 to 3 months with one of our ministry partners or helping directly with E-VAN ministries. Through our mission pilots club we will utilize our resources more effectively by linking the resource to the need in a time efficient manner. We believe that this will increase the probability for key leaders and specialize personnel to serve on the field. Aviation Workshop- Coming April 2006! Pilots and medical personel ask for details!
